Saturday, February 13, 2010     Saturday Evening Wearing Down
(5:41 pm)

After a day of retail therapy I'm ready for pizza and beer and physical therapy. I'm worn out, and we didn't even make it to the grocery store.

Last night I performed at a sparce Open Stage. There weren't very many people there, but we had a good time. I stumbled through Alexi Murdoch's "Orange Sky" and did CCR's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," which I'd done there a couple of other times. I really like that song. Anywho, Andrew Atkins of "The Wild Rumpus" fame told me I had to buy the soundtrack for "Crazy Heart," He claims I sound just like Jeff Bridges. I bought it while we were out today. There's a lot of nice music on it, including several by Jeff Bridges, one by Buck Owens, and one by Townes Van Zant. Colin Ferrel and Robert Duvall perform too. I'm not as certain as Andrew is that Jeff and I are twins separated at birth, even though I do bear a faint resemblance to "The dude" in "The Big Lebowsky."

Looks like a light meal and an early night to me.
